I chose to paint my jar burgundy because it's my favorite color. As I was painting I realized that just a burgundy jar was kinda boring, so i moved the brush from side to side to create squiggles on the way down. Originally I intended on putting positive sayings on the jar, however I changed my mind after I painted the jar. I felt that putting something over the paint would make the jar look to busy.
I painted a flower with water color paint on the jar. I really liked the flower and thought it looked great, however other people told me the flower did not look right, so I doubted myself and tried to make it look better. In trying to make it look better I wound up ruining flower completely. I tried to fix it but got too frustrated. So i changed my direction and painted a stained glass window on the jar instead.
In the end I really liked my jar. I learned that if you like something, and you gave it your best effort you should never let anyone tell you to change it. Thats not ok. No matter how hard you work on a project there is always going to be someone out there who doesn't like your project. Those people do not matter. You should only live to please yourself as an artist. In the end I did like my jar and I am happy with the end result, and I choose not to care what anyone else thinks.
